Fauchon Paris

Navigating one of the world's great luxury food houses into the German market.

Fauchon is one of the great names in luxury food — a house with more than 135 years of history on the Place de la Madeleine in Paris, synonymous with French gastronomic excellence and the art of exceptional gifting. For a brand of this stature, market entry into Germany is not simply a commercial question. It is a question of positioning, of partners, and of the precise moment when everything must be right.

We were engaged to advise on and manage Fauchon's German market strategy — a mandate that combined the substantive business development work with the market presence that had to run alongside it.

The commercial core was the identification and qualification of trade and franchise partners for the German market: a careful, research-intensive exercise that required deep understanding of both the brand's requirements and the German premium retail landscape. In this category, the selection of the right partner is often the single most important decision in a market entry, and we approached it with the rigour it deserved.

In parallel we built an integrated trade and market presence across Germany, Austria and Switzerland: category editors, lifestyle and food buyers, the German-language conversation around Fauchon's approach to French savoir-faire — an audience with high expectations and real knowledge of what excellence looks like.

The result was a German market entry built on the right foundations: the right partners, the right positioning and the right visibility for a house that accepts nothing less.
