Skywalker Retreats

A world apart — communicating the retreat experience of Skywalker Ranch to European audiences.

Skywalker Ranch is one of the most remarkable private properties in the world — the creative and personal home of George Lucas, set across 4,700 acres of rolling hills in Marin County, California. Alongside the vineyards, the studios, and the technical facilities that have shaped cinema history, Skywalker Ranch also offers an extraordinary retreat experience: a setting of exceptional natural beauty, complete privacy, and the quiet feeling that something important has happened here.

Bringing this experience to the attention of European travel press and the premium hospitality market required a very specific approach. Skywalker Retreats occupies a category of its own — it is neither a conventional hotel nor a private members’ club, and the usual frameworks for communicating a hospitality offer do not apply. What it is, is singular.

Our communications approach began with that singularity. We worked with European travel media — writers and editors who specialize in extraordinary, undiscovered, or genuinely rare experiences — to place the retreat in the right editorial context. The story was told through the landscape, the history, and the profound privacy that the property offers: a place where the world’s most curious and accomplished travellers could find rest, inspiration, and complete withdrawal.

Content production played a central role: developing the language and imagery that could translate the ranch’s atmosphere across markets and media formats, ensuring that every editorial touchpoint conveyed the scale and serenity of the experience.
