George Lucas's wine estate, brought to European audiences on the merits of the wine.
Skywalker Vineyards is the wine estate of George Lucas, nestled in the hills of Marin County north of San Francisco. Grown from the same land as Skywalker Ranch — the legendary creative campus where Star Wars and so much else was made — the vineyard produces wines of genuine quality: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a Cabernet Sauvignon that reflect the microclimate and soils of an exceptional terroir.
The brand presents an unusual challenge: how do you position a wine estate connected to one of the most famous names in cinema without reducing the wine itself to a celebrity footnote? The answer lies in leading with the land, the craft and the quality — and letting the story of the estate's origins add depth rather than overshadow.
That is precisely the approach we developed for Skywalker Vineyards in Europe. Our mandate covered international positioning and content production, with a particular focus on building credibility with European wine-drinking audiences and the trade around them — buyers who hold wine to very high standards and are rightly sceptical of celebrity-adjacent projects.
We developed content that placed the vineyard's winemaking philosophy and terroir at the centre of the story, worked with European wine editors and lifestyle press, and gave the trade a way to speak about the estate on the wine's own merits. The result was a European presence built on the wine itself — which, when properly introduced, requires little else.
